Fort Hood, Texas: Deadly Army Base Killings

Postby General Forestry on Thu Nov 05, 2009 9:53 pm

As many of you probably know by now, today there was a deadly shooting at Fort Hood Army Base. First I would like to take this time to forward my condolences to the families involved in this disaster and also to the many men and women stationed at Fort Hood who experienced this horror first-hand.

Early reports told of the gunman being slain, but later reports showed otherwise. The gunman was identified as Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

Base commander Lt Gen Bob Cone has now said that the gunman was not killed, as earlier stated, but is in custody.

I will keep this link updated as the weeks progress, because I am sure this will be a hot topic for a long time to come.

New information on this psycho-path. Apparently, it may look like that some out there will be showing "pity" towards him for his actions because of "secondary trauma".

As an army psychiatrist treating soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, Major Nidal Malik Hasan had a front row seat on the brutal toll of war

Good reason to take out a few of your brother's in arms. All that this does, is just make a point that we need to keep a better watch on these types of people in the military.

More information coming soon

Just some info to put this into perspective:

In addition to the 13 dead, 29 people were wounded, seven of whom were in intensive care and nine others who were still hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

He began his rampages, according to witnesses, by bowing his head as if praying and saying, “Allahu akbar” — “God is Great.”

As for "secondary trauma" a lot has to do with what news story is right:

Major Hasan, who was posted to Fort Hood in July and assigned to assess soldiers before they were deployed to combat

New York Times

either way, it doesn't excuse the actions. It may explain them, but not excuse them.
I detest life-insurance agents; they always argue that I shall some day die, which is not so.

Also, his Radical Muslim Spiritual leader that Major Hasan followed Praised what Major Hasan did. (forgot the name)
Said Major Hasan was a "Hero"!
And that "Major Hasan had No other thing that he could do" but to follow his god.
This was the kind of "NUT" that Major Hasan followed!!!
Other Muslim clerics have immediately denounced this Radical Muslim "leader" as NOT following the Koran!
