Iran and North Korea, the Real World Enemies

Postby AmericanPride on Tue Mar 03, 2009 6:29 pm

Everyday, I get on the internet and read headline after headline on Iran and North Korea and their development as a global Axis'. This becomes very tiring to me after a while, and I'm quite sure country leaders are getting tired of this crap too.

I have a suggestion, and please back me up or give very good reasons why I am wrong.

Why isn't the UN making policy on dealing with these kinds of countries??? They are a global threat. North Korea and Iran are the most extreme threats the world has right now. Russia, the United States, Great Britain, China, Japan, India, Israel, etc., will never be safe or have any peace as long as the governments and mindsets of these two countries continues to exist. They threat the lives of innocent people every time they get on the air and talk about nuclear weapon development, "satellite" launches, and long-range missile tests. They threaten every life with these sayings.

So why doesn't the UN step up and grow some balls on these issues? They have the power, and the persuasion to motivate other super-powers into taking action on these "enemies". Iran has oil, the only bargaining tool they have. North Korea, really doesn't have anything but besides a full-scale invasion of South Korea.

MY PROPOSAL:

The United States, Russia, Great Britain and China have the tools, soldiers and resources necessary to deal with "pests" like Iran and NK. Give them the permission when they feel that any more delay on action will result in unknown futures, to invade these two countries and throw everything they have at the governments and put an end to the shit. I know this seems like a pretty radical view, and sounds just like "Operation Iraqi Freedom" but in my eye this is completely different. Since it is obvious that these two have nuclear capabilities or very soon, will have, they are the real threats. This because they hate the rest of the world who does not agree with their views and policies, and they feel they have to have the need to build these weapons...for reasons I'm sure any child at the age of 5 could figure out. If there is a WW3, it will come down by the hands of these two, and by any other country they have bribed into following them to the grave.

They are a real threat people. The UN is really the only power which can justify a move like this, and I think it should be considered. The US, Russia, Great Britain and China are the four big super-powers which can ally together and do this. It might very well bring final peace to this planet if it was done. It would show the rest of the world that governments like these two Axis' will not be tolerated, and that the world is better off without them.

The Problem come here....

Russia backs Iran, China backs North Korea. As such, they don't feel a threat from those countries. To be quite honest, the country that has the biggest threat from BOTH Iran and North Korea is the U.S., and Russia and China would both probably be glad to see the U.S. attacked so they just sit back and watch.

Under Chapter Seven, the UN Security Council has the power to decide what measures are to be taken in situations involving "threats to the peace, breaches of the peace, or acts of aggression". In such situations, the Council is not limited to recommendations but may take action (what you are proposing), including the use of armed force "to maintain or restore international peace and security". This was the basis for the use of coalition forces in Iraq and Kuwait in 1991. Decisions taken under Chapter Seven, such as economic sanctions, are binding only on UN members. The reason the UN isn't doing jack about it is listed above. Both Russia and China are permanent members of the UN Security council. Under Article 27 of the UN Charter, Security Council decisions on all substantive matters require the affirmative votes of nine members. A negative vote, or veto, by a permanent member prevents adoption of a proposal, even if it has received the required number of affirmative votes (9).

Yes, I know that Spazz. But why would China and Russia back those two countries in the event of something happening like that? The United States has much better economical ties than North Korea or Iran, and we are a much stable country. What happens when Iran and North Korea turn on China and Russia? It's going to happen...either now or later, whenever both of them have a nuclear arsenal and are crazy enough to start something up. It's stupid to even be "friends" with either of them. The world is better off without them...
