Battlecries

Does anyone know any battlecries either from a unit they were/are in or history?

To define a battlecry we can use the following unless someone has a better definition:
A battle cry is a yell or chant taken up in battle, usually by members of the same military unit. The content and nature of battle cries vary, depending on whether their intent is to threaten, invoke a family name or family lands, or call on God for assistance. These cries can serve many purposes, including inspiring those otherwise inclined to stay back, terrifying the enemy, promoting a sense of esprit de corps, as well as communicating to allies that they have support.

I have accumulated a few:
Remember the Alamo - One of the most famous battle cries in the Mexican-American War.
Banzai! - Used by the Japaneese during WWII
Currahee! - Used by the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment

"GERONIMO"

In 1940, the night before their first mass jump, U.S. paratroopers at Fort Benning watched the film Geronimo (1939), in which the actor playing Geronimo yells his name as he leapt from a high cliff into a river. Private Aubrey Eberhardt announced he would shout the name when he jumped from the aeroplane to prove he was not scared. This yell soon became popular with other Paratroopers elsewhere.

"Allons! Allons!"

Battlecry of Frederick the Great's Prussians during the Seven Years War.

It is also said to have been used occasionally by Hessians during the American War of Independence.

Rebel Yell

Battlecry of the Confederacy in the American Civil War. How I wish there were actual recordings of this, because from what I have read the reenactments are no where near what actual Rebel Yell was.

Great Aunt Mabel who lives in Eastbourne tells me that she remembers something similar being used by American GIs in 1944

But since Old Girl has become somewhat 'mutton' in her dotage, I suspect she thought I said "Nylons! Nylons!"

Oh dear-That is KT putting another black mark against the Hobilar's name (Laughing)
