I was watching an episode of "Hitler's Bodyguard" which went over 3 assassination plots the British considered. Here they are in the order the British would have liked to carry them out in.
1) Hitler took daily walks to a tea house in Berchtesgaden. He arrived right at 11 AM every day. The British would send in a few snipers that would be dressed in SS uniforms with sniper rifles outfitted with telescopic scopes and firing explosive projectiles. If they missed, a secondary squad was to use either the PIAT or M1 Bazooka to blow the tea house up.
2) Ambushing Hitler's car as it left Berchtesgaden. The road was heavily forested which gave excellent cover. Again, the use of the M1 Bazooka was to be used due to its ability to penetrate the thick steel armor of Hitler's car.
3) The most ambitious plot. It involved bombing the barracks for the bodyguards and strafing any bodyguards that managed to escape that. Following that a SAS battalion would parachute in and kill Hitler. This was deemed to be a suicide mission for the SAS and the SAS was deemed to valuable to be sacrificed, even to kill Hitler.
