Discussion on Equipment and Weaponry

RS-24

Postby General Forestry on Wed Oct 22, 2008 11:15 am

I'm going to quote AmericanPride, because this is truly an 'atomic shotgun'. The new RS-24 will 'replace' the old SS-18 and SS-19 (which most Americans came to fear in the Cold War) until 2050. This ICBM is capable of carrying up to 10 separate nuclear warheads on board, which each will hit a specific target. This missile was first tested in May of 2007, and is planned to be put into action next year. This was developed for the sole purpose of defeating the U.S. Missile Defense system in Europe.

Of course, the question remains "What will happen to the SS-18's and SS-19's which are out there somewhere in rural Russia?"... no one knows.

Ladies and Gentleman of the jury, this really scares the shit out of me.

I guess the issue here is, when does the warhead split up? The missile defense may still be able to take it out. I wouldn't count the U.S. out yet. (Plus there is still that whole MAD thing...)

If by "works out for everyone in the end" you mean "everyone dies", then yes.
