Paint help?

Postby KnightTemplar on Fri May 09, 2008 9:26 pm

I am painting some model soldiers (1/72) but i don't know which color. these troops are modern era army and I've tried every color and mix i know. I've tried flat green, olive drab and flat green, green, and just about everything and they just don't look 'right'. The digital camo is hard to duplicate at that scale.

Really? What kind os scene do you have? Desert I'm assuming if it is modern, though with the use of greens I could be wrong. I can imagine how he digital camo could be a pain at that scale.

I recognize this problem. After years of trying I never did find a paint for British Khaki (Colonial Period) or US Olive-Drab that looked authentic in small scale.

Actually, Forrest is what I have. It is a railroad layout of a U.S. Army base. The scene is on an L shaped layout made of two 8 foot by 4 foot tables bolted together.
