Military Power

Over the past month FreeForums.org has been working hard doing a massive overhaul to the current profile system. They have found that user interaction is one of the differences between a ghost forum and a successful one with active and participating users. So what was one of the things users asked for? A better profile system where they could not only build an image around themselves, but also be informed about fellow forum users.

They asked active forum users what they wished a forum profile looked like, and from that started designing the "perfect profile". In an effort to make this as perfect as possible before launch, they wanted to get the feedback and ideas of the larger community. They will be using these ideas to further mold this profile system.

There will be an easy to use and highly detailed permission system that goes with these profiles. Privacy is a huge concern and the user will be able to set who (guests, registered users, friends, or nobody) can view each and every part of their profile.

For example, a user might set it so no one can view their age, while only forum friends can view their full name. This same permission system can be used for the activity feed, about me section, pictures, etc.

This new profile system will promote more participation and communication between users. This will allow for a more active, successful, forum.

I'm still thinking on it...not coming up with any good ideas. How bout you guys? Have any new ideas on getting more active members?
