Military Foods

Postby General Forestry on Mon May 05, 2008 8:46 pm

Growing up in Central Pa, and being an hour from Hershey, I came aware of how Milton took off his company during WW2. He developed a candy bar for the soldiers in the Pacific theatre. It was called the Tropical Bar, and was designed so that it did not melt in the soldiers nap sack or pocket during tours, and also provided some energy boost for them. I found this very interesting, and I would like to here some more about other famous, or not so famous, tasty or disgusting military foods.

So, post away on what you guys come up with.

Wasn't Spam also created for the sole purpose of the military? It doesnt matter....I love it! I could eat that stuff forever, especially right out of the can and between two slices of bread. Of course you have to get by the whole fact that it does look a lot like canned dog food.
