Good idea....Get rid of all those expensively trained infantrymen, and replace with a bunch of rabbit hunters (well rabbits don't shoot back very often).
That should save a few million dollars on the Defence Budget.
Not replacements, just supplemental assistance. Switzerland does the same thing. They have a trained military, but they also require all males (females can too, but are not required to) over a specific age to have a rifle and box of ammo in their room. (They stay neutral because they can, not because they have no military)
