Much along the same lines as the Explain your avatar thread, another way we express our personalities is with the username we choose. Like Count1man mentioned in his thread, to get to know each other better, I thought it would be fun and enlightening to explain why we chose the username we did.

I'm not exactly sure where mine came from. I've been using it for quite a while now. I used to have my username as SwitchbladeNGC (for the supposed aircraft name of the VGFSW (Variable Geometry Forward Swept Wing) aircraft by Northrop Grumman Corp. But, most people didn't get it, so I changed it. Right now, my Username in all of the Forums I belong to is either KnightTemplar or Knight Templar. I have had a fascination with the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (the Knights Templar), though I personally don't subscribe to the "conspiracy theories" associated with them.

My username came from when my brother and I played NHL Hitz. I made my own character named Maximus and when we got into fights in the game I would almost always win and occasionally the announcer would say "Maximus destroyed him!" which became a joke between my brother and I and I became Maximus the Destroyer.

I spent 22 years in the Army. All of it as a member of the Army Finance Corps, processing payroll. While stationed in Germany (1986-1898) I was the disbursing Officer, responsible for all government funds in the community. One of my duties included counting all cash on hand (dollars and Deutch Marks) in the vault daily. I have a degree in accounting (go figure). When I first got started with this online phenomenon I found that countman seem to be too common. So to set myself apart I inserted the number 1 in the middle to make myself unique. Most folks usually call me "count" for short but my name has stuck with me for about 10 years now. 8)

Well, I am fairly new to the whole internet forum thing (not new to the internet, just to forums). I wasn't sure what to use so I did a search for military call signs and found this one that I liked.

Hobilar - A kind of Medieval Light Horseman commonly found in the English Wars against the Scots. Sometimes spelt Hobelar in some publications.

I just thought it was a great word and not something that anyone else would have thought of.

(PS-To count1man: Can you guess what we both have in common?-Send me a private message to find out)

Well, I came up with mine because I am a forester here in Pennsylvania. I also happen to be a man. I like to put an underscore_ under a lot of things that I type for files to be transfered through databases. And I work for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Oh and I graduated from college in 2007. I know.....dumb.
